William E. Murphy's Obituary
William E. Murphy, 74, of Stafford Springs, CT, husband of the late C. Nina (Mason) Murphy, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, after a year-long bout with cancer. He was born in Southbridge, MA, son of the late John E. and Margaret F. (Rieggers) Murphy. Bill served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He then worked with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and North American Printed Circuit, before purchasing and operating two Postal Instant Press franchises. He later retired as a machine operator with CUNO. A former treasurer for the Stafford Republican Town Committee, he was a fan of UConn basketball, the Boston Red Sox, and the New England Patriots. He will be remembered for his intelligence, his wit, and his loyalty to his friends and family. Bill is survived by his two children, Sean Murphy and his wife Dawn, and Heather Murphy; four grandchildren, Ryan and Megan Murphy, and Tyler and Andrew Carlson; his brother, David Murphy; his sister-in-law, Georgiana (Mason) Hanselmann and her husband Kurt; their children, Seth and Rhea Hanselmann; and several cousins. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 2-4 P.M. with a time of remembrance and reflection to take place at 4 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Memorial donations may be made to the Johnson Memorial Cancer Center, 142 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT 06082.
