William "Ziggy" Zigmond's Obituary
William J. "Ziggy" Zigmond, 90, life long resident of Willington, CT, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012. He was born in Willington, CT, son of the late William and Rosalia (Svec) Zigmond. Will was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, and retired as an experimental mechanic from Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. He was a member of St. Edward Parish, Rev. Felix J. O'Neil Council #1395 Knight of Columbus, Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26, American Legion, St. Joseph Slovak Society, and life member of the Italian Benefit Society. Will is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Loretta (DaDalt) Zigmond; two daughters, Nadine DalBon and her husband Carl of Willington, CT, and Denise D'Angelo and her husband Dennis of Enfield, CT; three grandchildren, Danielle Letendre and her husband Michael, and Curtis and Brian DalBon; his brother, Stephen Zigmond; three brothers-in-law, William Loch, Ronald DaDalt, and Alfred DaDalt and his wife Judy; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five siblings, Sophie Lipke, Francis Zigmond, John Zigmond, Cecelia Gilbert, and Mary Loch. His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Friday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
