Abdolreza Nowzarinezhad's Obituary
Abdolreza “Abdi” Nowzarinezhad, 76, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2021 with his beloved wife by his side, after a long battle with NFI and stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He endured five spinal cord surgeries, with one being over 14 hours long, but he faced this with grace and courage. Despite numerous health issues he always kept his sense of humor and will to live. He was born in Abadan, Iran on February 8, 1944, and emigrated to the United States in 1974, where he met and married the love of his life on October 8, 1977. Moving across country to CA afterwards, they spent the next 12 years working and traveling all over the United States and outside the country. After they welcomed their first child, Amy, in 1988, they moved back to Stafford Springs to be closer to family and friends. He worked at Johnson Memorial Hospital, retired from Tolland Public Schools, and he also worked part time at the Willington Public Library. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed the whole family being together. His eyes would light up over seeing his grandchildren. He was always cooking and feeding everyone around him. We will miss the kind, compassionate, caring man that everyone knew. He loved having family around, and was always in his TV room watching the Cowboys play. Abdi is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judie (Wytas) Nowzarinezhad; daughter, Amy Lam and her husband Tim; son, Andre Nowzarinezhad and his wife Amanda; and three grandchildren, Alexis Pothier, Chase Lam and Jaxx Nowzarinezhad. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 12 Noon at St. Edward Cemetery, West Stafford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT. Those in attendance are asked to please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Memorial donations may be made to the Stafford Ambulance Association, 27 Willington Ave., Stafford Springs, CT 06076. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT has care of the arrangements.
