Barbara A. Niccum, 61, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT. She was born in Garret, IN, daughter of Veronica (Mikrut) Cattell and the late Joseph T. Cat Read Obituary
I will always remember Barbara as being a positive force in every way. Always incredibly sweet and helpful. Barbara was always able to easily turn stress and confusion into calm and clarity with grace and professionalism. She will be dearly missed. My deepest Condolences.

I was fortunate enough to have met Mrs. Niccum soon after becoming good friends with Brian during my freshman year at Marquette University. She was an extremely sweet and happy lady, and I remember the excitement and positivity she had when she traveled to NYC with Brian and I for the Big East Tournament. I am thankful for meeting her, and please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss…my thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Dear Niccum Family, We are so sorry for your loss. I had the honor of knowing Barb for many years at St. Rita School. Barb was an amaizing women, who thought of others before thinking of herself. She was so helpful in many, many ways. Barb always took the time to volunteer at St. Rita School and St. Rita Church. May you all find peace in the memories you have and in your faith with the Good Lord.
I only talked to her on the phone at work. She had a great voice. I can remember any time I would call how nice she always was and so easy going no matter want kind of day she was having.
Barbara was such a wonderful person. I got a chance to work with Barbara and to enjoy her warmth, kindness and thoughtfulness. Barbara will be very missed by all her friends and colleagues at HS.
We had the pleasure to meet Barb when she visited her son Doug in Kansas City. Doug has shared many loving stories with us about his mother and her love of baking. We feel blessed that Doug has come into our family but realize the next few months are going to be very difficult. Our prayers go out to Ron, Doug and Brian.
