I have many wonderful memories of Ben going back to the 60's in San Clemente,Ca . Ben eventually became like a father to me helping me to purchase my first house in the area. Through the years ,Ben was involved in my families' lives, sharing many happy times since then-- even flying out to Chicago to visit us three years ago. He was very sick then. I'm very happy Ben was able to live these three years and enjoy the people he was close too. Even in his condition he managed to see the city of chicago and spend quality time which I will cherish. I will always remember Ben's humor along with his intellect.
Ben will be missed a great deal he was a wonderful man.

I have enjoyed getting to know Ben over the past decade through various members of my family and while I lived at Avery Park as one of his neighbors. I especially loved his warmth, quick wit, jokes and wonderful smile. Ben will most definitely be missed by the many friends he made everywhere. Its been a long haul Ben, may you finally be at rest and free of pain.

Uncle Ben...I will surely miss your love of life and your heart-felt smile. So many memories of San Juan Capistrano, Ca as a young child....how about riding with the top down in your red convertible speeding,trying to make it past the tracks before the railroad gates closed. All those family cook-outs with your signature sand incrusted hamburgers,waking up to fresh squeezed orange juice from the orchards you took care of, the grunion running escapades.....and so many other fond memories. Still in your eighties you put us younger 50 + years olds to shame because we were too tired to go dancing. You will always be in my heart and an inspiration to enjoy life. I love you Uncle Ben!

When I care about someone, I tell them "I love you." I said this to Ben 100s of times over 42 years. The first 10 times I told Ben that I loved him, he said nothing. I asked him, "why don't you ever say that you love me? He never forgot that. The last thing he said to me was, "I love you." I love you Ben.
