Bernie was a little prickly until he got to know you - but once he knew you, he was there to help and many times surprised me with his generosity: giving me a ride to work when he saw me walking, snow blowing the end of my driveway when the snow was deep and crazy! - coming out to lend a hand putting a new mailbox post in, etc. I can attest that his yard is beautiful! I will miss having him next door and having neighborly chats when I go outdoors. Dot, Skip, and family - I pray for God's peace during this time for all of you. Growing up in Willington, I lived next door to uncle Bernie for many years.
Uncle Bernie had a triumph motor cycle, and it’s was purple. Well I was about 10 years old and every Summer I would beg him for rides on the motorcycle. We did go riding.
