Blanche (Bower) Deskus' Obituary
Blanche J. (Bower) Deskus, 93, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late Walter G. Deskus, Sr., passed away at home on Sunday, September 11, 2011. She was born in Lansing, NY on April 17, 1918, daughter of the late Ivan and Jenny (Snyder) Bower. Blanche has resided in Stafford since 1954. She loved playing cards, gardening, and was well known for her vegetable stand by her neighbors. She loved having her home filled with her family. Blanche is survived by her 10 children, Bob and Pat Deskus of Mystic, CT, Walt and Judi Deskus, Jr. of Wells, ME, Pat West of Hampton, NH, George and Pat Deskus of Stafford, CT, Russ and Paula Deskus of Putnam, CT, Ann and Charlie Backofen of Wauregan, CT, Bill and Joanne Deskus of Stafford, CT, Bev and Joe French of Berwick, ME, Lori and John French of Willimantic, CT, and Henry Deskus of Detroit, MI; and was the proud grandmother of 28 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all of them. Her family will receive relatives and friends during calling hours on Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 11 A.M. - 12 Noon with a funeral service to take place at 12 Noon at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Attn: Research & Development, P.O.
