I remember Carissa and I had a conversation back when I was working at Miranda Creative. I asked her, “what age did you become an Art Director?” She replied with “at 27.” I told her “well… Imma become one before that.”
Last week I turned 27. And although I haven’t reached Art Director status, I’m still proud to say that I had an amazing Art Director and Mentor through Carissa. I give her the credit to a lot of my success in this field. She had so much patience with me and so many others. The industry lost a good one, she will be severely missed by many of those she taught and guided.
Carissa was the closest thing I’ve ever had to a big sister. She was my voice of reason anda lot of times the reason I got out of bed. 6 years will never have been long enough to know such a beautiful soul.
I will forever miss you my sweet girl.

She was so inspiring. This beautiful light will be missed deeply. She was a plant lover and an animal lover such as myself so we became instant friends. We shared many laughs together and some tears. She was the person that made the impossible seem so easily accessible with dedication and hard work. She is and will always be one of the brightest stars in the sky..
I met Carissa at a business networking event, and she was so captivating to talk to. Her presence and talents will be missed.
