Charles Falke's Obituary
.Charles “Charlie” Falke, 54, of Union, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 20, 2010. He was born in New York City, to Elizabeth (Hannesdottir) Falke and the late Charles Falke. Charlie got his pilot’s license at 16, and loved flying, airplanes and every aspect of aviation. He was also an avid photographer, loved audio recording, and was fascinated with everything technical. Charlie graduated from Columbia University with a degree in mechanical engineering, and worked for 30 years at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and Hamilton Sundstrand. He was an enthusiastic member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and of the Civil Air Patrol. He was the grateful recipient of a kidney donation from his sister Leslie, which allowed him to live and enjoy excellent health for the last eight years. Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Brigitte (Buhler) Falke; his mother, Elizabeth Lawrie; four sisters, Kirsten Falke-Boyd, Leslie Falke Trainer and her husband Ted, Roberta Falke and her husband Andy Levey, and Julia Farrall and her husband Ray; his in-laws Rato and Mares Buhler, and brother-in-law Mike Buhler and wife Jenny, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 5 P.M. with visiting hours to follow until 7 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
