Joyce and family,

So sorry to learn of David's passing. His sense of humor and friendship will remain with me forever. I will never forget traveling with he and the others to England on our search for Jordan roots. We had a great time. Yes there were many things learned about Rev Robert Jordan's family but one of my fondest memories will be of one late evening in Worcester. The group was returning to our hotel after dinner, walking down a quiet cobbled street, no traffic. Somehow the conversation turned to John Wayne. David was doing his impression of Wayne and walking down the middle of Friar St. Thank you, Duke for the wonderful memories. The trip of a lifetime. And a friendship I will treasure forever.

Nancy and I are so sorry for your loss. Our prayers and sympathy are with you and your family. I will always remember the great timeswe had at the Altnaveigh in the winters past. Also I will remember the many hours that Dave and I would spend in his office talking about history and the future things to come.
He was a great friend and a wonderful person to know.
Dave will be missed by many, and always loved by those whom he touched.

I had the honor to know Dave through Pratt. He was a wonderful boss and he took a lot of grief from BJ and CJ! We teased him so and he always smiled at us so warmly! I will miss him. I'm sure he and Billy are having a few good laughs together now! Joyce, I admired your love for him and the care you took of him over the last few years. J - I was so very sorry to learn of "Leroy's" passing. I think of him and you fondly and always with a smile and memories filled with laughter. I still have that wonderful eulogy he presented when our friend Ivan passed away. He made it all real and the laughter he elicited seemed to unite us all. May you hold dear all the wonderful, loving and happy memories I'm sure you shared over the years and may they bring you comfort. My heart and deepest sympathies are with you.
