Prayers to Dennis‘s daughters and family and good friends. I am very sad to hear the passing of my friend Dennis. I met Dennis when I was five years old. Through my teen year Dennis and my family would travel the northeast , two places like Lime Rock, Watkins, Glen, Pocono, Bridgehampton, Nelson, ledges, Ohio, Summit point West Virginia, Briar in New Hampshire and Road Atlanta Georgia. Pick crewing for my dad‘s and Dennis‘s race cars. We spent a lot of late nights at the foreign car shopping in Glastonbury, Connecticut. We’re Dennis built an engine, Dyno. Dennis was a very calculated and smart man. He could squeeze every ounce of horsepower out of those racing engines. As time went on we lost track to each other when Dennis stopped coming to the races. I always knew Dennis lived in Stafford, but I didn’t know where. 40 years later my wife and I relocate Stafford Springs and who drives by my house, but Dennis. It was a wonderful surprise to find out we were neighbors. Of course, every time I’d run into him walking the dog or him just stopping by or even at the big Y we talked about the good old days. He was one of few to talk about the old days with ,since my dad is no longer with us. Dennis was a very nice man. The last time I spoke to him just a few weeks ago he invited my son, my grandson and I to come try his fishing pond. We are all looking forward to it. Rest in peace, Dennis and say hi to my dad. Your friend Paul Pires.
