Douglas W. Stanish's Obituary
Douglas W. Stanish, 63, of Willington, CT, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014. He was born on January 8, 1951 in Hartford, CT, son of the late Frank J. Stanish, Jr. and Shirley (Todd) Stanish. Doug lived most of his life in Willington, where he was the owner and operator of Willington Auto Body, Inc. During his life, he was on the Zoning Board of Appeals and Board of Education for the Town of Willington. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #88 of Hartford and Radiant Chapter #11 Order of the Eastern Star in Willimantic. He was an avid golfer and a great friend to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Roberta (Moseley) Stanish; son, Chris Stanish and his wife Sarah; daughter, Laura Stanish; sister, Sharon Stanish; two step children, Dawn Gorgone and Robert Gorgone and his wife Christina; six grandchildren, Kaylee Stanish, Nathan Gorgone, Curtis Gorgone, Catherine Weaver, Lauren Weaver, and Brooke Gorgone; a special nephew, Tate Warren and his wife Christine; and several other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Pam Stanish; and brother, Frank Stanish III. The family would like to thank the hospice team from VNA East and all the special friends who helped in his final days. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 from 1-3 P.M. with a funeral service to take place at 3 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
