Edward Formeister, 99, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He was born in East Hartford, CT, son of the late Alexander and Stefania (Jeronka) Formeister. He joined the Read Obituary

My heartfelt condolences go to Norma, Jim and Frank and all their families on Ed's passing. Growing up, I spent more time at their house than I did at my own. I remember Ed bringing us kids to Troop C Headquarters and teaching us how to fire a pistol. I remember helping the boys pick blueberries, but more so remember the delicious pies Norma made with them. I was so happy to visit Norma and Ed a couple years ago when I was home for Christmas. Ed was a loving husband and father, and I could tell how much he loved his grandchildren. I pray the Lord gives the family comfort during these difficult days, and may Ed rest in peace!

Mr. Formeister was the definition of the word "Gentleman" Growing up on Chestnut Hill with the Bachiochis, Buhlers, Mardens and the Formeisters was the essence of being a member of the Baby Boomer generation. Mr. & Mrs. Formeister were always so kind and when the blueberry season was in bloom our hands were always purple. May God Bless your family always.
