My sincere condolences to the Hartenstein family. Growing up in Staffordville my dad and I would stop to visit. When I helped Mr. Post take care of his sheep in the field, Elmer would walk down and say hello to us. As I grew up I would always wave to them outside of their house or stop to say hello. I could never get enough of the view of Staffordville lake.

Please join us in remembering and celebrating the beautiful lives of Elmer Hartenstein and his lovely wife, Jean, who recently passed.
Elmer was a founding member of Valley Communications, a long-time valued employee, and dear friend. Retiring in 1995, his contributions to Valley were profound and we will always remain grateful for Elmer’s dedication and service to Valley. Elmer and Jean left their fingerprints on Valley and our hearts for a lifetime.
They will be missed by all.

Elmer and Jean, what great people and the best life long friends to my Mom & Dad; Larry and Eleanor Emhoff. The beautiful view of Staffordville Lake that they witnessed every day, was their outlook on life. Their extraordinary connection to each other extended to the two of them Touching the Face of God on the very same day. We’re so fortunate to have known them.
Love to Jill, Bob, Tracy and the entire family

Tracy and Jill and family. Elmer was part of our family, both business and
personal at Valley. He had been in my life since my teens, a beautiful man,
patient with all of us, ever even and kind. We shared a great love of chocolate
and I loved finding special birthday cards for him that had a chocolate theme.
Heaven has gained an angel and I shall miss him dearly.
With love, Judy
