Francis Benison's Obituary
Francis C. Benison, 73, of Edgewood St., Stafford Springs, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 14, 2010. He was born in Providence, RI, son of the late Edward and Agnes (Dailey) Benison. He graduated from Providence College ('58) and served two years as a U.S. Army officer. He enjoyed a long career as a manufacturer's representative in the aerospace industry, making many friends along the way. He was a member of St. Edward Parish, former longtime member of the Stafford Rotary Club, and former chairman of the Stafford Planning and Zoning Committee. Fran is survived by his three children, Orna Benison of North Carolina, Martha Benison-Fogg and her husband Raymond of Stafford Springs, CT and Patrick Benison of Norwalk, CT; two grandchildren, Seamus and Olivia; three siblings, Edward Benison and his wife Doris of California, Claire Riggs and her husband Donald of Warwick, RI and John Benison and his wife Gail of North Scituate, RI; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010, with a procession forming by 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial and Military Honors at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed immediately with collation, to which all are invited and will be announced. Burial in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston, RI, will be held privately. Calling hours are on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
