Just wanted to extended by deepest sympathy to the family. Karen, I know you will miss your Grandmother. Remember she will always be with you
My grandmother was a great artist, someone I always admired for her talent! She was like Grandma Moses, she knew every line stroke, every color, as if she could see perfectly.
I am so sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories of Gloria in Hampton beach swimming with us in the ocean!
I met Mrs Brown and her husband only a few times after buying their home in broadbrook. After having lived in this house for over 27 years, I have seen how much time and care they took in creating this home. I recall a few times discovering needles and thread in the lower den area. I send my condolences to all her miss her and wish them beautiful memories of her life with each and every one her crossed her path in her life
I met Gloria when my sister Christine married Gloria's son Alan, I was 14 years old.
What I appreciated and loved about her was that she always took interest in what I liked and what was important to me.
Gloria knew that I like riding horses and that I riding English in various shows. She knew I fed horses and cleaned stalls so I could ride. She had a very strong work ethic and encouraged me to keep cleaning stalls and feeding horses so I could ride. One day she presented with an entire outfit to wear when she found out I was going to my first horse show. Brand new pants and a really beautiful riding jacket. They cut and fit we're excellent, I was so floored and in awe of the love and care she put into this outfit, I was speechless. I wore my gear to the show with pride and confidence. She smiled from ear to ear when I told her I placed second in my first show!
Gloria could paint too! And she was generous with showing me her artwork, she also encouraged me to paint and draw. When I would visit her home she Would show me her paintings and share with me her passion for each painting, tell me about the care and content she would put into each brush stroke, color, and content.
When my parents celebrated their 30th anniversary she painted a picture of our family home which was proudly displayed in our home. Gloria was a very kind, considerate, and caring woman.
I will remember her most for listening to me and encouraging me to follow my passion, to share, and to give lovingly and freely... Gloria was a good woman.
We want to express our condolences for you loss. Our memories of Gloria are seeing her and John enjoying their time with her sister Norma at Hampton Beach, and then seeing the both of them at horse shows in Springfield, MA. enjoying watching Norma Jean and Karen show. She will surely be missed, but just remember the love she had for her family. She will always be with you.
