Gloria Brown's Obituary
Gloria Brown, 86, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 14, 2013. She was born in Haverhill, MA, daughter of the late Frank and Glastina (Spero) Capluci. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John Brown; three children, Michael Brown and his wife Tessa, Alan Brown and his wife Julie, and Norma Jean McKillop and her husband Jerry; seven grandchildren, Tracy Mercier and her husband Todd, Aaron Brown, Sarah Brown, Keith McKillop, Danielle Brown, Karen McKillop, and Elissa Pinette; two great grandchildren, Travis Brown and Hayley Stuck; three sisters, Zelia Senter, Norma Capluci, and Alba Williams and her husband Humphrey; and several nieces and nephews. Gloria was a talented tailor, most known for customizing leather coats for movie stars and President Roosevelt's wife Eleanor. She also tailored items for those in her local community, as well as an organizer for many facets of crafting. Gloria was an accomplished painter, donating many of her pieces to public facilities including banks, town halls, and historical societies. She continued sewing, painting, and other hobbies; her talents will live on through her adored children and grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 12 - 3 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
