Howard P. Bennett, Jr., 69, of Stafford Springs, CT, husband of the late Carlene (Braley) Bennett, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Plymouth, ME, son of the late Howard P., Sr. and Catherine Bennett. Howard was an avid hunter and NASCAR fan. He is survived by his companion and special friend, Charlotte Kulas; three children, Pamela Shepard and her husband Gary, Scott Bennett and his wife Penny, and Rebecca Klements and her husband David; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four siblings, Herb Bennett, Sr. and his wife Dorothy, Gloria Long and her husband Elmer, Freda Long, and Ronald Bennett and his wife Cheryl; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2 P.M. at the Second Congregational Church of Stafford at West Stafford, 199 West Stafford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be held in the Spring in Plymouth, ME. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association,P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
