Jacob N. Studniary's Obituary
Jacob N. Studniary, 86, of East Granby, CT, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Windber, PA, son of the late John and Mary (Katchek) Studenask. Jacob worked as a coal miner in PA along with his father and brothers. He served our country in the United States Army and later worked as a machinist at East Granby Machine Shop. He greatly enjoyed antiquing, fiddle music, his lottery scratch tickets and going to the casino with his life partner, Dorothy Ference, who predeceased him. Jacob is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; Dorothy’s three children, Kenneth Ference and his wife Dori, Michael Ference and his wife Barbara, and Darlene Plourde and her husband Wayland; four grandchildren, Phillip Plourde and his wife Bianca, Jessica Plourde, David Ference and his wife Karry, and John Ference; and two great grandchildren, Madeline and Jeremy. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Philip Cemetery, Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT. His service to our country will be recognized with military honors during the service. Memorial donations may be made to Folds of Honor Foundation at foldsofhonor.org.
