Jacqueline G. Capomacchio's Obituary
Jacqueline Grace (Nye) Capomacchio, 64, of Union, CT passed away peacefully at her home on March 9, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Growing up with her father serving in the Air Force, Jackie had the opportunity to live in different areas of the country, as well as the world. With every new location, she always took comfort in her books. She had a fierce love for them and would routinely read at least fifty books every year. She served as a member of the Union Public Library Board and helped start their book club. Jackie passed this love of literature down to her children and grandchildren. After moving so much during her school years, Jackie eventually settled in Massachusetts and worked and lived there for the better part of her life before moving to Union. Jackie felt that her biggest accomplishment was having her three children and her most joy came from her four grandchildren. She was their amazing Mom-Mom and she had a special bond with each one of them. She spent countless hours and days with her children and grandchildren and it became apparent that those moments fueled her in those last years. She was forever grateful for them. Jackie’s professional accomplishments were many. She graduated from Assumption College with a degree in Human Resources and worked continuously in that field. She served as Director of Human Resources at Nichols College, and then Mt. Ida College before retiring as the Director of Human Resources at Clark University. Her amazing personality made for a perfect fit with her jobs in Human Resources. Jackie also loved to travel and explore new, out of the way places. Every trip included a stop at the local library and any independent bookstore that happened to be there. Even cancer was unable to keep her from travelling as she and Ed traveled right up to the end of last year. Jackie also enjoyed baking and her chocolate chip cookies and her fudge were both legendary. Jackie is survived by her husband, Edward Capomacchio of Union; her three children and their spouses, Joshua Tonelli of Watertown, MA, Alicia Tonelli and Scott Greenwood of Exeter, NH and Brooke and Kyle Roberts of Sturbridge, MA; her four grandchildren, Jacob Tonelli, Grace Greenwood, and Hadley and Hudson Roberts. She is also survived by her sister, Lesa Cain of Delaware; and her three brothers, Timothy Nye of Virginia, Joseph Nye of Delaware, and Chris Nye of Tennessee. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 5 – 8 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial in Union Center Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jackie’s memory can be made to the Union Free Public Library, 979 Buckley Highway, Union, CT 06076 or to Seacoast Community School, 100 Campus Dr. #20, Portsmouth, NH 03801, where her daughter works and her granddaughter goes to preschool.
