Janice E. DeFoe's Obituary
Janice Elizabeth (Gavett) DeFoe, 90, of Enfield, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, after a long illness. Janice made a difference in the lives of many young people as a second-grade teacher at Hazardville Grammar and Henry Barnard schools. Janice was born in Portland, ME. She was predeceased by her parents, Maynard F. and Nicola Gavett, and her brother, Robert, of South Portland, ME, and her husband, Frank DeFoe of Monson, MA. Janice leaves her son, Steven Defoe and his wife Donna of Barkhamsted, CT, granddaughter, Sara Moeller and husband John of East Granby, CT, her sister, Jeanne Kroot and partner Larry Gribbin of South Portland, ME, along with many loving nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. The family especially thanks her caregivers, Millicent and Lola, and the HHC at Home hospice team. Services will be held at a later date. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
