Violet Doughty Ahearn
I worked with Joan many years ago and considered her a mentor. We lost touch when she left The Hartford so I'm sorry to hear of her passing. I found her to have a wonderful sense of humor and I know how much she loved her family and how respected she was at work. I've thought of her now and again as the years went by with much fondness. She helped a young new worker find her feet and I doubt I would have had as many successes as I did without having had her as teacher and friend. I, too, lost my mother back in 2007 so I know how much having a memory of a loved one who has passed can be that otherwise might have been lost to time so I leave this for you her family to know she made a difference in my life.
