its hard to believe that I have no next visit to grandpa's house to look forward to..I will miss you, your words of wisdom and encouragement..your great granddaughter hasn't spoken a word to anyone since she found out you left us..she adored you and is so grateful to have known you..we miss you terribly..no words can express our sorrow and pain. we love you and you will forever be in our hearts.
John was the sweetest soul who was always extending a kind word with a smile. I will forever treasure the wooden dog he made for me - his hobby that showed his artistic talent. My sincere condolences to his wife, children, and grandchildren. Know you now have a guardian angel looking out for you. He will be deeply missed.

We will miss calling out to you and waving as you walk to the mailbox, talking about the weather, the traffic problems on the street,the falling tree branches, the kids having fun in the yard,crafty new woodworking projects you were up to and other interesting tidbits that you always presented with a good bit of humor. John has been so kind and helpful to us too, watching out for anything going on. Several years ago, when he saw us handshoveling rock in our driveway, he later finished the whole job with his tractor, what a wonderful surprise to return home to, especially with a new baby on the way. Before we had a snowblower he always plowed our driveway for us. While seemingly little things, they made a huge difference to us at the time. A children's stool John made and a very colorful Seussian-like birdhouse are at home here too. We are thankful to have known you and to have you and Madeleine as neighbors.
Madeleine, I am so sorry to hear of John's passing and I was so looking forward to seeing you both at the Stafford Craft show.I have thought of you both so often and am so sorry I did not act on my thoughts of contacting you both. I have this bottle that I believe my niece gave me that says the "Dancing Bear Ranch" and had thought that would have been a nice surprise for John next week (as I know how much he liked bears). I am so sorry for your loss. The first time I met you both (4+ years ago) at Stafford was like I knew you forever, and I cherish my bow holder that John made for me. I am grateful that I was and am able to have known this wonderful man. Mary Ann
To those who knew him, John was a rock-solid person who stayed the same day after day. I can still see his smile, hear his laughter and I remember how I enjoyed his personal humor and accounts. I will miss him.

So sorry for your loss. I met John while I was working at Probate and he would always stop in to say Hi. He would always put a smile on my face. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
