John A. Watkinson, Sr., 79, of Stafford Springs, CT, beloved husband of the late Marie J. (Bouthiette) Watkinson, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford Springs, CT. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Corporal, and retired as a landscaper from the Town of Stafford. John was a member of St. Edward Parish, Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, and V.F.W. Post No. 9990 of Stafford. John is survived by his three children, David A. Watkinson and his fiance Audrey Hopko, John A. "Jack" Watkinson, Jr. and his wife Donna, and Deborah W. Cropley and her husband Wesley, all of Stafford Springs, CT; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be held privately. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
