My Aunt Josie, sister to my dad, Willie, was a most favorite Aunt of mine & a best friend to my mom, Lydia, since their friendship formed when they were young women. Then, in the 50s, when rock & roll was young Aunt Josie, my mom, Cousin Greg, Aunt Josie's 2nd born son, & myself would have dance parties, a very cherished memory of mine. On Christmas Eve, my parents, aunts, uncles, & cousins would meet @ Aunt Jo's & Aunt Florence's houses of residence & we would celebrate with Christmas Eve Dinner. Aunt Jo's signature fried smelts in red sauce was a big hit. After dinner, all the "kids," meaning grown ups, too, would dance in a circle to favorites like "At the Hop..." Keep dancing, Aunt Josie...thank you for the treasured memories as you are so very much missed. Carol Defoe Killoran
