Laura S. Tiziani's Obituary
Laura S. (Safranek) Tiziani, 95, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born in South Willington, CT, daughter of the late Charles E. and Bertha (Heyduk) Safranek. Laura graduated from Windham High School in 1943, then held many jobs in the surrounding area. She was Executive Secretary for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Storrs, Office Manager for the Connecticut Charcoal Company, Librarian for the town of Union, and Secretary at United Technologies Research Center. She also spent countless hours as a volunteer for the Johnson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Union Congregational Church Bible class and Church community newsletter, the Union Volunteer Fire Department, the Union School Association PTA, she was a children’s story teller at the Union Memorial Library, she did children’s activities at Union Home Day, and at the Newsletter Co-Op Food Store. The family would like to acknowledge the fantastic care that Laura received from Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Laura is survived by her two sons, Glenn A. Tiziani and Peter C. Tiziani; her sister, Lucille Guerra; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Adolph V. Tiziani; and her brothers, Arnold and Clifford Safranek. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 9 AM to 10 AM, with a funeral service beginning at 10 AM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow the service at St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. All attending are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
