Lena C. Beebe's Obituary
Lena C. Beebe, 72, of Willington, CT, wife of the late Edward “Ned” A. Beebe, passed away on September 29, 2018. She was born on August 28, 1946 in Sweden, daughter of the late Borje and Asta (Rojning) Linnersten, and came to the United States in 1965 as a nanny for family friends living in Connecticut. It was fate that their house had an ant problem and she said yes to a date with the handsome exterminator who showed up. Ned and Lena were married in 1968 and moved to Willington, CT in 1970 to start a family. Many people knew Lena as the voice with the accent when they called Willington Termite and Pest Control, where she helped manage the business alongside Ned until their retirement in 2004. Lena and Ned traveled extensively with their camper and went on over 30 cruises together before his passing in 2010. She was a tough lady with a strong work ethic, clear ideas of what is right and wrong and a sense of humor that was enhanced by her colorful language. Lena loved to share her Swedish meatballs and her unique perspectives with friends and family. She is survived by her two children, Christina Mailhos and her husband, Richard, and Eric Beebe, all of Willington, CT; three grandchildren, Sophia and Richard Mailhos and Samuel Beebe; two siblings, Lotta Jamsen of Finland and Staffan Linnersten of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved German Shepherd, Roxie. She was predeceased by her sister, Kerstin Gaines; and her grandson, Gus Mailhos. The family is planning a private Celebration of Life gathering.
