Mildred Bagley's Obituary
Mildred E. Bagley, 92, of Winchester, MA, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2009 at Evergreen Health Care Center, Stafford, CT. She was born in 1917 in Groveton, NH. Millie was one of nine children of Henry and Rena Bagley of Medford, MA. She was preceded in death by brothers Leonard, Russell, Richard, and Robert; and sisters Miriam, Ruth, and Doris. Her one living sibling is brother Charles E. Bagley of Stafford, CT. She also leaves many nephews and nieces, as well as many great-nieces and great nephews. She will be sorely missed by all of her family, by 'Babbie' Newell ' her long-time friend, neighbor, and companion; as well as a multitude of friends she has made during her lifetime. Millie was a nurse, graduating from Lawrence Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1939 ' she was a nurse at Winchester Hospital where she became the head nurse of the Obstetrics Unit ' and later became the office nurse for Dr. James McDonough, working more than 35 years in that capacity. Millie retired in 1988, and became a volunteer care-giver to numerous friends, co-workers, and her extended family in and around Winchester. In compliance with her stated wishes, there will be no viewing or public church services. Her remains will be cremated, and disposed by her family as she has requested. Further, in lieu of any donations in her name, Millie prefers that you offer some act of kindness to some acquaintance of yours.
