Neil J. Almquist, 80, of Vernon, CT, formerly of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Hartford, CT, son of the late Albin and Cecelia (Rustic) Almquist. Neil was Read Obituary
I’m so saddened to hear of Neil’s passing. He was such a kind sweet man. I have many fond memories of Neil coming into the school with a smile on his face and a kind word for all. He will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences

I will always remember the times when Neil was in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk, VA., and would come home on weekends, and Neil's Dad, who was my uncle, and myself would take him to the bus station to catch a bus back to Norfolk. We always managed to make a stop on the way back at the Garden of Italy for a couple of cold ones and usually talk about Neil, and I will always remember how proud his Dad was of Neil.
Our deepest condolences to you all. We offer our prayers for Neil as he finds joy in Our Lord's fulfilled promise of peace, rest and eternal reward for a life well lived, as well as consolation of the Holy Spirit for the loved ones mourning the loss. We trust that Neil's life just got a whole lot better now that he is the company of all who watched over him in heaven. Jesus, we trust in You.
