To the family of Nello "Butch" Spallacci,
I am sorry for your loss. To me, Butch wasn't just my second cousin, I considered him my friend. I have many fond memories of both Alice and Butch. When I was their neighbor we would sit around their swimming pool having cocktails and we would reminisce about our younger years and the times we spent together. Butch and I also shared the bounties from our gardens with one another. We would wait and see who would have the first red tomato of the season. Butch wasn't much of a cat person, but my Maine coon cat, Max won his heart over. Max would go visit them 2 to 3 times a day. They also took great care of Max when I was on one of my trips. I also remember how much Butch enjoyed his orange pineapple ice cream. He was happy when I told him that he could get it in Hadley, MA. When I think of Butch, I will smile knowing that they are together, perhaps eating his favorite ice cream, having a few cocktails and smoking his cigar. May it bring you comfort in knowing he is with Alice now. May he rest in peace.
