Peter F. Alix's Obituary
Peter F. Alix, 68, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on May 4, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Meriden, CT, son of the late Leo and Adele (Crepeau) Alix.
Peter led a life of honor and service. He served our country for over 22 years in the United States Army. He proudly served in the 8th Infantry Division, the 82nd Airborne Division, the XVIII Airborne Corps., the 504th Parachute Infantry and the 76th Division Army Reserves. He retired in 2001 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He also served the South Windsor Police Department for 28 years, including as a firearms instructor, a training instructor and coordinator, a K-9 officer and a member of the Capitol Region Emergency Services Team. He retired in 2018 at the rank of sergeant.
Peter adored his wife of over 25 years, Jennifer, and he was unwavering in his love for his three children. Throughout his life, he demonstrated a steadfast generosity toward others and a profound appreciation for every moment. Family and friends will remember him for his wit, selflessness and hospitality.
He was a member of the Greater Hartford Chapter 82nd Airborne Division, a Trustee of the Somers Sportsmaen’s Association, and a member of St. Edward Church. Peter is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer (Beaulieu) Alix; three children, Laura Alix and her husband Ben Scaralia, Diane Alix and her husband Chris Matechik, and James Alix; four siblings, Elaine Farrell and her husband Michael, Edward Alix, Suzanne Alix and Denise Alix; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, James Alix.
His funeral will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, with a procession forming at 9:00 AM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Edward Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
