Ralph N. Otto's Obituary
Doctor Ralph Newlin Otto, 77, of Union, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late George and Ella (Ross) Otto and biological son of the late Richard Scull who died before his birth. Ralph was a graduate and All-American soccer player at Earlham College in Indiana. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era aboard the Repose hospital ship, and retired as a pathologist after 27 years from Baystate Medical Center. He cherished his farm in Union and enjoyed creating pen and ink drawings. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Ralph is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cecilia (Bay) Otto; two sons, Richard Otto and his wife Carol, and James Otto and his wife Elizabeth; four grandchildren, Miranda, Jeamy, Jeany, and Waldermar; two great grandchildren, Maximus and Veralee; three siblings, Olivia Casement and her husband Michael, Jonathan Otto and his wife Lisa, and Robert Otto and his wife Gail; sister-in-law, Carole Otto; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Richard Otto. Funeral services and burial will be held privately.
