Robert Zielfelder,'s Obituary
Robert E. Zielfelder, Sr., 80, of Tolland Ave., Stafford Springs, CT, beloved husband of the late Joan (Mercure) Zielfelder, passed away on July 7, 2008 at Fox Hill Nursing Home, Vernon, CT. He was born in Springfield, MA, son of the late George and Louise (Wacker) Zielfelder. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, and retired as an office manager from Mallory Industries. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, V.F.W. Post No. 9990 of Stafford, Wolcott Lodge No. 60 A.F. & A.M. of Stafford, the Royal Arch Masons Adoniram Chapter, and the Stafford Senior Center. Bob is survived by his four children, Carol O'Brien and her husband Edward of Vermont, Donna Demers of Stafford Springs, CT, Laurie Pray and her husband Duane of Monson, MA, and Robert E. Zielfelder, Jr. and his wife Melinda of Stafford Springs, CT; four grandchildren, Jessica Hayes, Courtney and Eric Demers, and Sarah Pray; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah, and Rhieva; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Zielfelder; and a sister, Evelyn Fayant. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
