I've only known "Dad" for 14 years and he came the closest to being a father figure to me than anyone I've ever known. Everytime I've seen him he would have a smile and was always offering anything he could offer. I enjoyed him joining Pete & I and whomever else may have been in the back fields at the time for some target shooting and barbecue of his favourite, baby back ribs and a beer and good conversation. He did a lot of chores at his age and with his health concerns, mowed a huge lawn, shoveled snow, house repairs and did flea markets and tag sales. Like myself, he loved nature and enjoyed feeding the deer, turkeys and all sorts of birds. Years ago he enjoyed the company and spoiling our half wolf pups with all sorts of left overs and he enjoyed watching their antics. My regret is that I didn't come around more often and spend more time. I raise a glass to Rummy for going out in style ~ the day of the worst snow storms in the history of CT!
Coming from a Polish family myself, I see such a similarity between Rummy and my relatives. A stubborn insistence on continuing to get out there and work, well into the "golden years", has been a hallmark of what I have always known from my own family to be Polish culture. I admire that.
Za zdrowie, Rummy!
Hi Pat,
My mother Dorothy Saunders wanted me to tell you how sorry she is. My entire family wishes you well. Mom is sick with Alzheimers but does remember you and your family.

To all the Greika Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Rummy was a really good man with a gentle demeanor and kind smile. I enjoyed running into him from time to time, especially around the auction circles. I can only imagine that you must be devastated. Hang in there. You have a wonderful family (and friends) all around you with lots of love and support. My prayers are with you at this most difficult time. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.
Sincerely,
- Ann
