Roman "Rummy" Greika's Obituary
Roman P. “Rummy” Greika, 80, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford Springs, CT. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Anthony and Rosalia (Melnicka) Greika. Rummy was a U.S. Marines veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from United Technologies as a test engine operator, and spent his retirement as an antique dealer. Rummy is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia (Lusa) Greika; five children, Peter Greika, Sara Kania and her husband Frank, Karen Troiano and her husband John, John Greika and his wife Andrea, and Maura Greika; seven grandchildren, Erin, Catherine, Emily, Jenny, Timothy, Nicholas, and Jonathon; a sister, Nellie Salvador; a brother, Vincent Greika; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six siblings, Walter, Henry, Ted, Bruno, Helen, and Rose. Funeral services will be held privately.
