Scott E. Wing's Obituary
Scott E. Wing, age 67, of Willington, Connecticut passed away on February 27, 2024 after bravely battling cancer. He was a man full of wisdom and light, an eclectic spirit to those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his presence will remain here forever.
Scott was an honorable man, deeply valued not only in his personal relationships but in his professional endeavors. Scott spent 38 hard-working, committed years working for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection as a highly respected hydrogeologist, until he retired in 2020.
During his retirement years, Scott dedicated time to his many passions and hobbies. He was an avid collector of antiques, engines, and machines. For those privileged enough to enjoy a conversation with him, Scott indulged in the opportunity to share stories of the unique and interesting treasures he would find.
Scott was a loving husband to his wife Laura. When he was not on an adventure of finding new collectables, he enjoyed the peace and serenity of the more simpler fortunes of life. He loved walks with Laurie, trips to the Cape, and most of all spending quality time with his two sons.
For anyone that knew Scott, his favorite and most prideful role in life was his role as being a father. The love Scott had for Christopher and Mike was unmatched. Their bond was deepened by their appreciation for cars or toys for their garages. Even in his elder years, Scott’s youth and charisma reignited around the sparks and enjoyments of a new machine.
Scott's memories will live on through the stories of those who cherished him. While many missing his presence have been saddened by his passing, the family finds comfort that he is now reunited with his two favorite labs, Jake and Dakota. Scott will be remembered for his charming stories, his quick wit, but most of all the love and endearment he provided his family.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Laura (Burke) Wing; two sons, Christopher Wing and his wife Emily, and Michael Wing; sister, Nancy Wing; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, with a prayer service beginning at 6:00 PM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
