Shirley A. (Irish) Dickson, 78, of Willington, CT, wife of the late Robert J. Dickson, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Windham Hospital, Windham, CT. She was born on 3/3/33 in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Robert N., Sr. and Annie (Kie) Irish. Shirley was devoted to caring for her family, and was an avid UCONN basketball fan. She is survived by her five sons, Robert J. Dickson, Jr. and his wife Susan of Tolland, CT, David J. Dickson and his wife Kim of Stafford Springs, CT, Gary M. Dickson and his wife Gail of Enfield, CT, Alan W. Dickson of Stafford Springs, CT, and Jeffrey S. Dickson of Willington, CT; a daughter, Heidi L. Pack and her husband Mike of Texas; 11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; her dog, Beethoven; three siblings, Arlene Caputo, Myrtle Pixley, and Robert N. Irish, Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A calling hour will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 from 9-10 A.M. with a funeral service to take place at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
