Sophie T. Tarcha's Obituary
Sophie T. Tarcha, 97, of Round Lake Beach, IL, and formerly of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late Peter J. Tarcha, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. She was born in Westfield, MA, daughter of the late Julian and Teofila (Syderowicz) Romanowicz. Sophie and Peter were married in 1948, and built their home and moved from Massachusetts to Connecticut in 1954. In 2010, she moved to Lake Villa, IL to live with her son. Sophie enjoyed listening to the radio, exercising in her free time, doing crossword puzzles, and reading. She also spoke fluent Polish, and her favorite vacation destination was Newport, RI. Sophie is survived by her two children, Peter J. Tarcha, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Lake Villa, IL, and Theresa Tarcha of Torrance, CA; two granddaughters, Lucy and Eileen; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
