Steven P. McMahon's Obituary
Steven P. McMahon, 67, of Stafford, CT, passed away on March 22, 2020. He was born in Malone, NY, son of the late Kenneth P. and Marion G. (McKinney) McMahon. Steven served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He retired as a senior draftsman from Pratt and Whitney in November 2019 after 40 years, with significant contributions to many commercial engines, and the F-22 and F-35 programs. Steven was active with the Connecticut Freemasons for over 40 years as a member of Columbia Lodge No. 25 in South Glastonbury and Wolcott Lodge No. 60 in Stafford, having held all positions including past master in both Lodges. Steven was a past district deputy for the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the State of Connecticut AF & AM. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Scottish Rite. Steven always enjoyed helping others, volunteering, and cooking for Masonic events. Some of his hobbies included golf, working on cars, taking care of the lawn and garden, flying, and deep sea fishing. Steven is survived by his two sons, Benjamin McMahon and his wife Tiffany, and Timothy DeFlaviis; five siblings, Brian McMahon, Kathryn Craft and her husband William, Daniel McMahon, Brent McMahon and his wife Donna, and Kelsey McMahon; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Steven was predeceased by his sister, Sharon McMahon, and brother, Darren McMahon. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 10 A.M. at New Willimantic Cemetery, 1700 West Main Street, Willimantic, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Columbia Lodge No. 25, 149 Overlook Road, Glastonbury, CT 06033 and to Wolcott Lodge No. 60, P.O. Box 74, Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
