Theodore W. Rummel's Obituary
Theodore W. Rummel, 61, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 10, 2016. He was born in Johnstown, PA, son of Patricia (Fisher) Rummel and the late Theodore Rummel. Ted was Vice President and Real Estate Appraisal Manager of Webster Bank. He held the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and FRICS designation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and was the current President of the Connecticut Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Ted was a member and past master of Wolcott Lodge #60, and current District Deputy of Masonic District 9B. Ted was a member of the Stafford Republican Town Committee and the Board of Finance, and prior member of the Board of Assessment Appeals, Board of Education, and Economic Development Commission. Ted was also a Justice of the Peace, a member of the Sports Car Club of America, and an Amsoil Dealer. Ted’s greatest loves were his family, home, and farm – cutting trees, raising Scottish Highlanders and occasionally making maple syrup. His greatest pride was his two wonderful sons, who he taught, mentored, inspired, and motivated every day. For years, the family traveled the country racing motocross, arenacross, and enduros, where Ted made lifelong friendships with countless members of the racing community. Besides his mother, Ted is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Cindy; sons, Derek (and companion Katharina Schlegel) and Damon (and companion Meaghan Collins); brothers and sisters, Sherry Rummel, Brenda Rummel, Jim Rummel and wife Tracy, Kathy Champagne and husband Joe, Tim Rummel and wife Joadi; nephews, Bobby Rummel, Brian Rummel, Michael Champagne and wife Frances, Jake Rummel, James Rummel, and Jared Rummel; niece, Savannah Rummel; great nieces, Caroline and Clara; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ted was predeceased by his brother, Robert. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ted’s life on Saturday, October 15, 2016 starting at 1 P.M. at Ted and Cindy’s home, 216 Hydeville Rd., Stafford Springs, CT.
