Wayne Kemp's Obituary
Wayne Kemp, 71, of Union, CT, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. He was born in Springfield, MA, son of the late George and Margaret (Wishart) Kemp. Wayne was the owner of Roadrunner Installation Services, Inc., a business he built in the 1980s through hard work, determination, and a forward-thinking vision for the future of cellular communications. Along the way, he built not only a successful company, but lasting relationships with the people who worked beside him. The people who worked beside him were more than coworkers, they were family. He was larger than life in many ways — generous, opinionated, funny, and unforgettable. He loved telling stories, showing off his latest tech gadgets, machinery, and projects, and creating a home full of laughter, music and conversation. If there was a new toy, tool, or piece of equipment to talk about for an hour, Wayne was all in. He will be remembered most for the energy, humor, and presence he brought into the lives of the people who loved him. Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy-Lee (Aronne) Kemp; three children, Jesse Kemp and his partner Jennifer Stewart, Amy (Kemp) Gerrish and her fiancé Carlos, and Rachel (Kemp) Dickerson and her husband Jason; seven grandchildren, Cassidy Kemp, Patrick, Jacob and Connor Gerrish, and Ashley, PJ and Nicholas Dickerson; two sisters, Wendy Kemp, and Cynthia Scherer and her husband Camillo; brother, Robert Kemp and his wife Sheryl; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph, Roger and Richard Kemp. A celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
