I knew Wilbur for about 22 years as his pastor. He would share his private faith with me, and through his kindness and compassion to others and myself he extended the love he received from Jesus. His need to help others caused him to do many things that united many people in a common cause. The Coffee Breaks were started with his motor home. The Thanksgiving Food Baskets were delivered with his station wagon. The Senior Housing was something that he persisted in after groups of us failed again and again. The list is endless. I think one of his greatest gifts was his survival of cancer, alongside the loss of his young daughter to leukemia, and his willingness to share his deep trust in God around this illness.
Thank you, Wilbur, for showing us the light that you must now be fully experiencing alongside many loved ones, including your beloved Alice.
A Brother in Christ,
Mark Larson
