William D. Barnett Sr.'s Obituary
William D. Barnett, Sr., 61, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Duane and Mrytle (Hiltz) Barnett. Bill worked for the Town of Somers school system in the maintenance department. As many know, he enjoyed farming, raising turkeys, and putting on pig roasts. Above all, he was a family man and cherished the time he was able to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Marlene (Poehler) Barnett; daughter, Megan Murana and her husband Eric; two grandchildren that affectionately referred to Bill as “Papa”, Jackson and Amelia Murana; four siblings, Duane Barnett, Robert Barnett and his wife Denice, Joanne Williams and her husband Michael, and Kathy Blake; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, William D. Barnett, Jr. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 11 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
