William Hewett,'s Obituary
William H. Hewett, Jr., 81, of Ashford, CT, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 4, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born in Norwich, CT, son of the late William H. and Bertha (Edwards) Hewett. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Navy, he worked as an occupational therapist for the State of Connecticut. He had been very involved with St. Philip the Apostle Church, having cooked for the bingo crowd, and calling the bingo numbers. Bill was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 6934, where he was a former Grand Knight, and the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion of Stafford. He was loved by anyone who knew him. He would stop and help anyone at any time with anything they needed. He was a "can do" kind of man, and a devoted husband and father. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol (Cardolino) Hewett; two children, Mary Lavallee and her husband Michael, and William A. Hewett; two grandsons, Michael and Kevin Hawley; three siblings, Adele "Pat" Fontaine Ronalter, Irene Bruce Daigle and her husband Donald, and Richard Hewitt and his wife Barbara; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours are on Friday, March 8, 2013 from 6-8 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11 A.M. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Philip Cemetery, Ashford, CT.
